Sebastian Mendiburu

ITALIANO. Sebastián Mendiburú è nato a Santiago del Cile nel 1992. Ceramista e smaltatore, apprende le due tecniche a Buenos Aires in Argentina, dove vive dal 2013. Studia smaltatura su metallo presso i maestri Hugo Ostermann e Marcelo Bessi, e ha l’onore di lavorare con quest’ultimo come assistente nell’Istituto Municipale di Ceramica ad Avellaneda, dove studia ceramica ed è apprendista del maestro Emilio Villafañe. Partecipa attivamente a “Forni senza frontiera”, progetto di costruzione di forni ceramici itineranti in diverse comunità del Sud America.

ENGLISH. Sebastián Mendiburú was born in Santiago de Chile in 1992. A ceramist and enamellist,
he learns the two techniques in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he has been living since 2013. He studies enamelling on metal with the masters Hugo Ostermann and Marcelo Bessi, and he has the honour of working with the former as an assistant in the Municipal Institute of Ceramics in Avellaneda, where he studies ceramics and is an apprentice of master Emilio Villafañe. He actively participates in “Kilns without frontiers”, a project to build itinerant ceramic kilns in several communities of South America.
